Dear Cloud user,
as you might have heard, two CPU vulnerabilities called "Downfall" (CVE-2022-40982) concerning Intel-based CPUs and "Inception" (CVE-2022-23825) concerning AMD-based CPUs were detected and published during this year's Black Hat security conference (https://www.blackhat.com/). Unfortunately, it took three weeks for security patches to be available. With the availability of the patches since yesterday, we will install them as soon as possible.
The downtime/maintenance is scheduled for the next
Tuesday (September 5th, 2023) from 10:00 CEST to 16:00 CEST.
All running instances will power off as a result. To prevent any data loss on your instances, please shut them down gracefully in advance. We recommend shutting down instances a few hours (or one day) before the planned schedule as we will start to shut down compute nodes at 10:00 CEST. After maintenance is done, you will be able to start your instances again.
