Dear Users of the de.NBI Cloud Tübingen,
As we near the completion of a major upgrade, we are working diligently to ensure continuous availability of our cloud services. Unfortunately, some parts of the upgrade will require a temporary downtime of our dashboard for several hours. These changes will also affect connectivity with virtual machines (VMs) in Region 1. However, VMs in Region 2 should remain accessible during this period.
The scheduled maintenance is planned to begin on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 1 PM CEST, and is expected to conclude by Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 5 PM CEST. We hope to complete the upgrade within this timeframe. If additional time is required, we will inform you accordingly. During this period, there may be brief interruptions in your VM connections, though these disruptions should not last long.
A more specific downtime is planned for Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 8 AM to 5 PM CEST, though we anticipate that the actual downtime will only last for a few hours within this window. We will provide additional details as they become available. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Additionally, we would like to inform you about upcoming changes related to GPU VMs. Due to a shortage of GPU resources, we plan to shelve inactive GPU VMs that are occupying resources without being utilized by mid-November. If you still have inactive VMs that you need to keep running, please let us know.
For your information, shelving a VM frees up GPU, CPU, and RAM resources, while preserving the disk on our storage. Unshelving the VM is simple and can be done when resources become available again.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.
Wishing you a pleasant weekend!
On behalf of the de.NBI Cloud Team Tübingen,
Amir Baleghi
