Dear de.NBI Cloud Berlin users,
we would like to inform you that the self-service Shared File System (OpenStack Manila – "Shares" in the OpenStack Dashboard) at the de.NBI Cloud site Berlin will be discontinued on 05 December 2026. This affects the ability to create and manage NFS shares yourself as a project member. Block storage volumes (Cinder – "Volumes" in the OpenStack Dashboard) are not affected by this change and remain available as before.
Please do not create any new shares via the OpenStack Dashboard or the CLI. Shares created from now on cannot be supported and will be removed together with the service on the discontinuation date.
Projects that currently use shares have been contacted individually to agree on a migration strategy – either to S3 Object Storage or to an NFS share on a different storage system. If your project uses shares and you have not been contacted, or if you have questions regarding the migration, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
For storage needs going forward, please contact us directly: we will provide your project with S3 Object Storage or, where required, an NFS share on request.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Best regards
de.NBI Cloud Berlin admin team
