Dear users,
We would like to inform you about a planned maintenance window from Monday, 27 July 2026 at 10:30 until Thursday, 30 July 2026 at 17:30.
During this maintenance, we will apply the latest Linux kernel security updates to our infrastructure and upgrade our Ceph storage clusters to the latest stable release.
Fortunately, unlike our previous maintenance, a stable mitigation for the recent kernel security issue is now in our production. Therefore, this update does not need to be performed on an emergency basis. However, the kernel updates still require system reboots and are essential to ensure the long-term security and stability of our infrastructure.
Unfortunately, the Linux community has faced several kernel security vulnerabilities this year, many of which have required server reboots to fully apply the security fixes.
The maintenance is planned as follows:
- Monday, 27 July 2026, from 10:30
- Update and reboot the de.NBI services in both regions (R1 followed by R2). This work is expected to be performed without service downtime.
- Afterwards, the load balancers will be updated and rebooted one by one, again without service downtime.
- Tuesday, 28 July 2026, from 10:30
- Update and reboot all compute nodes , one region at a time (R1 followed by R2).
- Running virtual machines (Instances-VMs) will be shut down during this phase. We plan to automatically start all previously running instances again once the maintenance has been completed and no need to turn on them again in your side.
- Wednesday and Thursday, 29-30 July 2026, from 10:30
- Upgrade the Ceph storage clusters, one region at a time (R1 followed by R2)
The Ceph upgrades are expected to be performed without service downtime.
While we do not expect any unexpected interruptions, delays are always possible during infrastructure maintenance. We will keep you informed if there are any significant changes to the schedule.
