Three databases of coral reef sediment microbes have been obtained from the Tara Pacific Expedition. The basis of the project will be three amplicon sequencing datasets generated from nearly 220 sediment samples from coral reefs on 30 islands across the Pacific. Here I am working on the datasets, trying to find the relationship between the three datasets and also focusing on the dynamic relationship between microbial diversity and the surrounding environment. The main aim is to characterise the microbial diversity and community composition of shallow sediments on Pacific coral reefs, to highlight their role as an environmental reservoir for microorganisms and their dynamic relationship with the surrounding environment. The study will focus on two main aspects: Prokaryotic and Symbiodiniaceae community structure and richness in coral reef sediments across the Pacific; Coral reef sediments as 'biological reservoirs' in coral reefs across the Pacific. The main aim is to carry out an in-depth study of reef sediment-associated microbial communities on an unprecedented large scale across the Pacific Ocean using computational biology and statistical methods. and finally I want to find the microbial community patterns of sediments to those found in corals from the same sites (data provided by collaborator) with the aim of identifying overlapping taxa using Venn diagrams that can be found in sediments and corals to understand the role of reef sediments as reservoirs of microbial diversity. So I need the de.NBI cloud to analyse the data, and it is really helpful that it provides storage and memory for faster processing of large amounts of data.
